Assists in the provision of direct or indirect patient care as delegated by a nurse.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Certified Nursing experience is preferred Must complete and pass a 75 hour nursing assistant course Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Calculator Computer and printer Fax and copy machine General office materials/supplies Information Systems Telephone system All Patient Care Equipment within scope of CNALifts, beds, monitors, computers, oximeters, pneumatics, CPM, etc.
SECURITY/ACCESS:
Will have access to the facility 24 hours a day.
Will have access to confidential information abiding by the organizations privacy policies and regulations concerning this information.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities1.
Provides assistance to nursing staff as directed.
Takes vital signs and records as necessary.
Measures and records intake and output on patients when ordered to do so; including emesis, hemovac, suction canisters, T-tubes, voided urine and foley cath outputs.
Collects specimens in proper containers with proper labels, as directed.
Provides personal care for inpatients and outpatients as necessary, including oral care, bathing, combing hair, etc).
Changes linens on patients beds.
Gets patients out of bed and helps them to chair/wheelchair as needed.
Ambulates patients as ordered, with walker or gait belt, if necessary.

Observes the patient at regular intervals, answers lights promptly, and documents on work sheet or verbally, information the Charge Nurse should know.
Reports to the Charge Nurse any observations and/or symptoms indicative of patients changes and adverse reactions to treatments and/or response of complaints in a prompt manner.
Reports care for assigned patients.

Admits, dismisses and transfers patients as directed by Charge Nurse.
Explains procedures to patients and documents observations.

Helps to set priorities when delivering nursing care.
Maintains knowledge of location for needed equipment and supplies.
Restocks supplies as needed.
Reports equipment needing repairs.
Cleans and stores equipment when no longer needed.
5.
Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained.
6.
Participates in FCH committees, quality assurance, performance and quality improvement initiatives, and activities which support the facility and department operations.
7.
Complies with the state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of FCH operations and requirements of the FCH Compliance Program.
Including but not limited to:
The Compliance Policy.
Completes all on-line training annually and as assigned.
All department and organization-wide policies.
Considers the impact of regulations such as Critical Access Hospital requirements, along with Federal and State of Nebraska regulations and discusses concerns appropriately to ensure compliance.
